Coins struck in bronze; weight 9.45 grams; diameter 30.9 mm.
Reverse depicts a hen with chicks.

1971-1988


Change to decimal coinage, size reduced, reverse design changed.
Weight 3.56 grams; diameter 20.3 mm.

1990-2000


Composition changed to copper-plated steel.
